MCP2 Services: Mentoring

MCP2’s approach to mentoring is to ensure commercial acumen is embedded and enshrined. It must be based on who is being coached and/or mentored, not who is doing the coaching/mentoring.
Our approach is pragmatic, not optimistic (an optimist is someone who is unaware of all the facts), nor pessimistic (they will never change). We allow the environment to change. Whilst we recognise that if you don’t like marmite you probably never will, we can help you work with people who do.

“Mentoring involves the use of the same models and skills of questioning, listening, clarifying and reframing which are associated with coaching. Traditionally, however, mentoring in the workplace has tended to describe a relationship in which a more experienced colleague uses his or her greater knowledge and understanding of the work or workplace to support the development of a more junior or inexperienced member of staff.”

Whilst we recognise this definition, we at MCP2 believe mentoring is a personal thing. It is, fundamentally, about enabling people to gain the best possible outcomes for themselves and those they work for.
